Discover Acupuncture: An Introduction

Introduction to Acupuncture: An Ancient Healing Practice for Modern Wellness

Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is based on the premise that a blockage or disturbance in the flow of Qi or body life energy leads to disease. Sterile Needles are inserted into specific  points –

  • To restore the flow of Qi.
  • Balance the body’s energy.
  • Stimulate healing
  • Promote relaxation

Acupuncture needles are skinny, apart from that most people feel no pain or equal to the sensation of an ant bite when they are inserted.

Needle manipulation is also done to give sufficient stimulation to certain points.

Moreover, Traditional Chinese medicine explains that health is the result of a harmonious health balance of the complementary extremes of “yin” and “yang” of the life force known as “qi,” pronounced “chi.” This is neuroscience which says llness is said to be the consequence of an imbalance of these forces.

Furthermore, Qi is said to flow through meridians, or pathways, in the human body. These meridians and energy flows are accessible through 350 acupuncture points in the body.

When needles are pierced on specific points, selected by Acupuncturists, it stimulates the nervous system, which releases endorphins, that enhance the body’s natural healing power and alleviate pain and all other symptoms, leading to a sense of well-being.

Inserting sterile needles into these points with appropriate combinations is said to bring the energy flow back into proper balance.

Moreover, It stimulates the central nervous system. Consequently, This action releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. As a result, These biochemical changes may stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being

To relieve pain and discomfort, tiny needles are inserted into particular body sites and not create too much pain.
